In-medium chiral perturbation theory beyond the mean–field approximation
An explicit expression for the generating functional of two–flavor low–energy QCD with external sources in the presence of non-vanishing nucleon densities has been derived recently [1]. Within this approach we derive power counting rules for the calculation of in-medium pion properties. We develop the so-called standard rules for residual nucleon energies of the order of the pion mass and a mod...

With QCD sum rule evaluations, spectral changes of hadrons inside nuclear matter are considered, which shed light on QCD condensates and thus on the non-perturbative structure of the QCD ground state. For some light quark configurations, ω meson and nucleon, the relevance of four-quark condensates is compared; the D meson as a representative of heavy-light quark systems is also briefly discussed.
متن کاملqq condensate for light quarks beyond the chiral limit
We determine the qq condensate for quark masses from zero up to that of the strange quark within a phenomenologically successful modelling of continuum QCD by solving the quark Schwinger-Dyson equation. The existence of multiple solutions to this equation is the key to an accurate and reliable extraction of this condensate using the operator product expansion. We explain why alternative definit...

This review is based on the Sakurai prize lecture given at the Centennial Meeting of the American Physical Society (Atlanta, March 1999). The lecture was the second in the series of three talks related to the Sakurai prize 1999, and it followed Arkady Vainshtein’s summary of the discovery of the penguins . My main task was to review the QCD sum rules 2 within the context of the time when they w...
